Well, I can’t help but rejoice at your activity in the latest issue. By popular demand, this time we will dive into level 8 and see what will help us raise our statistics or how not to go into the red.
Indeed, level 8 tanks can be called the zero line. The fact is that they farm poorly, and if you lose, you can even go into the red. This is where it is important to choose the right unit, which will give you the best chance of winning. I want to say right away that level 8 is very demanding in terms of crew perks, not to mention equipment. Sometimes a stock tank is just a dull scrap metal, but in the top configuration, it tears and rushes.
Sorry for my digression, let's get to the facts.
As always, we start our analysis with heavy tanks.

Heavy tanks

Hmmm... To be honest, I expected slightly different results. But it all depends on the player and the ability to play a particular tank. Some stuff a statue on IS-3, which is actually a very imbecile tank, others (like me) crush everyone into pieces T-32 and playing on IS-3 doesn't add up. There are many opinions and I don’t dare advise you to choose one or another technique. Look at the table and draw your own conclusions.
Well, we move on and next in line we have medium tanks.

Medium tanks

Everything is clear here. Destroyer of all times and peoples Type 59 occupies a place of honor in our table. Those who once met this tank in battle will dreamily say: “I wish I had one like this!” Unfortunately, this tank cannot be purchased, but there is a good opportunity to win it. For those who don’t know, let’s move on to the news about participation in.
The British looks very good based on the results of the battles Centurion and Soviet Object 416, but I’ll say right away that playing on the Object is not easy, since it has a rear turret and this will not always be an advantage. I can personally recommend M26 Pershing or drum T69.

Light tanks

Well, we come to the class of light tanks. You all already know that with patch 9.3 new LTs were introduced into the game. Unfortunately, too little time has passed to get a clear picture, so we will omit them for now.

There is no need to talk about any outstanding values. If you compare these machines, then of course preference should be given AMX 13 90. Let's see how the new fireflies show themselves. In addition, the developers want to reduce the visibility of all tanks in favor of light tanks, which I think will serve as a revival of this class.
Be that as it may, let’s take a look at what we have with the PT class. Who to choose, who to bypass in the distant forest.

Tank destroyer

Judging by the results of our table, it is clear that the AT-15 with Borshchik have a good basis for bending. But as I already said, how you use this or that PT matters a lot. I just want to draw your attention to the fact that Borshchik is simply wildly popular among players, this cannot but give rise to thoughts.

Well, in the meantime, we are approaching the final class of our game at level 8. Of course, these are everyone’s favorite (possibly in quotes) self-propelled guns. Who will be the leader?

Hand on heart, I can’t say anything about artillery. I know that they shoot painfully, but I don’t ride it myself. So based on the results, I can't say M40/M43, superior to its competitors in all respects. Perhaps she will be your key to victory. Ride, try, write your opinion.

Well, I’m coming to the end of our review. I hope I was able to convey to you the complexity of choosing tanks at this level. Once again, I want to make a reservation that the figures at the time of publication of the article may differ slightly from reality. Write your wish, what level of technology you would like to see next time.

And I wish you success on the battlefields and see you again.

The first Swedish Tier 8 premium heavy tank, the Emil 1951, is coming out to the World of Tanks supertest today.

Today, a newcomer from Scandinavia, Emil 1951, is entering closed testing. This is a premium tank of the 8th level, with drum loading. In terms of gameplay, it can be called a lighter version of the upgradeable Emil I: less armor, but higher mobility; minus one shell in the drum, but the aiming parameters are more comfortable and the time between shots is shorter.
The tank's hull will be less protected, but as compensation the vehicle will receive a new 400 hp engine, due to which the specific power will increase to 15.15 hp/t. The difference is small, but noticeable - the tank will move more dynamically and gain maximum speed much better.

How will it be played? Very similar to its pumpable counterpart, except faster - less armor, more mobility. The drum will also discharge faster: it fired three shells and back, without unnecessary risk.

Depending on the test results, the tank's characteristics may change. We will announce the final performance characteristics later.

Crew: 3 people.

* A prototype of a heavy tank developed for the Swedish army as part of the EMIL project in the 50s of the twentieth century. The development was preceded by serious scientific research - all the necessary characteristics were previously calculated using complex formulas. Based on calculations, a draft version of the drawing was prepared in 1951, but it was abandoned in favor of later versions.

As an introduction, why I took the TT8 for the first comparison.

1. They have been completed by many players
2. They do not participate in companies and HF

Those. 98.7% Royal Random alcohol is compared.

Notes:
1. I didn’t take Slippers-A. He didn't get the stat.
2. The people who gave me this data secretly conveyed the wishes of the developers not to burn up the number of premium tanks. Therefore, all figures will be given relative to the total number of tanks in each class. We will respect people for their work.

Let's smoke this picture first, it will immediately say a lot.

All TT8 and players have been taken. Each group is divided into 5 parts by % of wins. So - with crappy players, 80% of the tanks drive just as crappy. And not at all because the tank is bad. For successful players, everything is different, as you can see, even with ultra-benders the tank may not move, but more often it’s the other way around.

This picture shows who drives tanks with varying degrees of success. Those. The graph is the opposite of the previous one. Again, 80% of unsuccessful tanks are driven by players from the two lowest groups in terms of percentage of wins. Comments, I think, are unnecessary.

These two graphs were presented to eliminate the subjective “here I am, but this is a trough” from the perception of the tank.

Let's move on to the objective. Which tanks do players of each group prefer?

The tops have no obvious preferences, in the middle the Is-3 is slightly in the lead, the foam doesn’t like KT and T32 for nothing, but gravitates towards the premiums.

Let's see the reverse picture

For some reason, losers love the KV-5 and ignore the T32 with CT.

Now - how successful tanks are distributed within themselves according to the % of victories on them.

Apart from CT and T32, the pictures are the same. 50% rides below 47%, 70-75% below 50%. KT is a little better, but T-32 is almost a guarantee of success!

But that is not all.

This is the dependence of % victories on a tank on the number of battles. Why do I think a new tank has been discovered in the kinks? Because success grows and grows, then goes down. Do apparently good players stop playing it? Why do they stop? They are pumping out a new tank.

The graph shows that all prems are better than IS-3 and worse than T32 on average, but worse than all TT8 at the points of full pumping. And despite the fact that the KT looks better in structure than the IS-3, it pumps up a little slower. However, it is possible that the fact that players accumulated experience on the E-75 made the maximum CT flatter, because it slightly extended the number of battles on it in the top.

And in conclusion: Which tanks did not work for the top players?

By and large, these are premiums with the prominent Lion and Duck + IS-3. To a lesser extent, this is the winner of our T32 review.

To be continued.

Saved

There are a huge variety of heavy tanks: from slow, heavily armored mastodons that can tank enemy shells for a long time, to fast drummers that deal high concentrated damage in a short period of time. But they are all united by a large margin of safety and an impressive caliber of guns.

When playing heavy tanks, don't think that you are invulnerable. Like any fighting vehicle, heavy tanks have their weaknesses. Going to the center of the map with the confidence that your armor, no matter how thick it is, will withstand any projectile is stupid. Soberly assess your strengths and the capabilities of your tank.

We have studied absolutely all the heavy tanks currently presented (beginning of May 2016) in World of Tanks and are now ready to tell you which of them are the best.

Level V - KV-1 (USSR)

"Klim Voroshilov" on the 5th level. If you are a beginner, a fan of “sand bending”, or just want to “farm” (yes, despite the low level, the KV-1 is capable of generating income without any problems), then this tank is for you. 75 mm all-round armor allows you to “tank” classmates’ shells, and a decent F-30 gun can inflict stable damage of 160 units every 4 seconds. It is also possible to install a U-11 howitzer. With this weapon and a full load of cumulative ammunition (one-time damage of which is 370 and penetration is 160 mm), the KV-1 turns into an annihilator, capable of ruining the lives of even the 6th and 7th levels. But in this case you will have to forget about “farming” silver.

Advantages:

  • excellent booking among classmates,
  • good selection of weapons,
  • easy to learn.

Flaws:

  • insufficient dynamics,
  • ineffective in stock configuration.

Level VI - KV-2 (USSR)

S - “stability”. One word can fully describe the KV-2. In fact, we have a hull from the KV-1, a level 5 tank, with a “birdhouse” instead of the turret we are used to. But this is not the most important thing, the most important thing is the M-10 howitzer. 152 mm at level 6! With this caliber there is not much need to think about the choice of ammunition. Landmines are our everything. The damage of each projectile is 910 units upon penetration (hello “Borschts”!). But even if we don’t penetrate the enemy vehicle, we will inflict damage on it in the region of 390 units, which is a serious argument even at levels 7-8. True, we pay for this with a reload of 24 seconds, which, to put it mildly, is long.

Advantages:

  • large one-time damage,
  • a good alternative 107 mm gun,
  • stable “damage” when playing on M-10,
  • Teaches calm and reasonable play.

Flaws:

  • dynamics are even worse than those of the KV-1;
  • very long recharge;
  • insufficient armor at level 6.

Level VII - T29 (USA)

One of the most popular tanks at level 7 is the American Herald of Democracy T29. “Cheburashka”, as the players dubbed it, having an almost impenetrable turret (279 mm in the frontal projection), received a rather loose body with 102 mm armor in the forehead without any special slopes. And at level 7 such reservations are no longer enough. It immediately becomes clear that you need to try to hide the hull, showing off your strong turret, which, by the way, houses an incredibly powerful weapon. With 189mm penetration and 320 damage, you won't feel underpowered when playing on T29.

Advantages:

  • beautiful tower armor,
  • high armor penetration,
  • good accuracy and convergence,
  • wide vertical gun aiming angles.

Flaws:

  • large dimensions and high silhouette of the car,
  • low mobility.

Level VIII - IS-3 (USSR)

The tank that marched at the victory parade in Berlin, frightening the “allies” countries - IS-3. He has it all: dynamics that allow him to be at the forefront of the battle; the top BL-9 cannon with the usual damage for Soviet heavy weapons of 390 units and with increased armor penetration to 225 mm, which can slap even vehicles at a higher level; There is armor both in the turret (249 mm from the front) and in the hull with the famous “pike nose” and “cheeto screens”. The only thing that can upset us is the frequent “crits” and explosions of the ammunition rack, since it is located in the forehead of the IS-3.

Advantages:

  • the strongest weapon BL-9,
  • maneuverability,
  • low silhouette of a tank,
  • shielded sides,
  • "pike nose"

Flaws:

  • narrow horizontal aiming angles,
  • frequently criticized ammunition rack,
  • small review at level 8.

Level IX - E 75 (Germany)

At level 7, an improved version of the "Royal Tiger" E75. As is typical for many German heavy tanks, the E 75 is quite well armored and has a powerful gun. But, in addition to this, it is more dynamic than its predecessors. This Teutonic knight, with a decent mass of 88 tons and good speed for a heavy tank, is capable of successfully ramming most of its enemies. "Eshka" is one of the most versatile heavy tanks.

Advantages:

  • decent dynamics for a heavy tank,
  • strong armor,
  • powerful and penetrating weapon,
  • one of the best tanks for ramming.

Flaws:

  • quite a big silhouette
  • not the smallest commander's cupola (bad for point-blank combat).

Level X - IS-7 (USSR)

And at level 10 the Soviet IS-7. No matter how many years have passed, no matter how many tanks with “uber laser guns” have been introduced, the IS-7 has always stood apart and has not lost its relevance. It has practically no weak points in its armor: the monolithic turret has 240 mm in the forehead, the “pike nose” consists of 150 mm plates at a good angle... Only the LLD (lower frontal part) is a weakness, but if you hide it behind a small stone you can contain even the most powerful projectiles. The 130mm gun, although it has very mediocre aiming and dispersion, can inflict quite good damage of 490 units. But the IS-7 pays for such armor and guns with mobility. Having a maximum speed of 59 km/h, the tank can reach it only from a hill. But despite this, the IS-7 remains loved by many players.

Advantages:

  • almost ultimate booking,
  • high one-time damage,
  • sides with screens,
  • does not require special skills to master.

Flaws:

  • rather weak dynamics
  • not the best penetration of armor-piercing shells.

The eighth level of equipment in World of Tanks boasts so many interesting vehicles that not a single top list can stand it. However, the site does not intend to deviate from the “top 5” heading and has selected the most worthy candidates.

Great and mighty IS-3

One of the most recognizable tanks in the game. Living legend. The dream object of any novice tanker, named after Joseph Stalin himself, is the IS-3. Players affectionately call him “Grandfather,” and opponents at any level fear the mighty BL-9 gun, capable of delivering slaps to even the most armored and heaviest vehicles. With excellent dynamics for a heavy tank, a squat silhouette and strong armor, the IS-3 is one of the best tanks in the game. In skillful hands, “Grandfather” is capable of methodically erasing one enemy after another from the face of the earth, turning the outcome of any battle and delivering incredible pleasure to its owner. Let's move on to the advantages of the machine:

An excellent weapon, the best at its level. Excellent armor penetration allows you to fight on equal terms with X level of equipment, and deal with classmates almost with your eyes closed.

A kind of armor that can save the car in the most incredible situations.

Excellent speed, maneuverability and dynamics. The IS-3 will not allow itself to be “spinned”, it allows you to quickly change direction, and in some situations play the role of a medium tank.

The low silhouette allows you to take advantage of the terrain while hiding the vulnerable parts of the hull behind the folds of the terrain.

Minuses

High risk of critical damage to the ammunition rack. The disadvantage can be mitigated by upgrading the “Non-contact ammo rack” skill and avoiding the habit of exposing the side to enemy fire.

Poor elevation angles, characteristic of most Soviet vehicles. You won't be able to shoot from behind the hill. But over time, you can get used to it, if you don’t alternate playing on the IS-3 with fighting on American vehicles.

Frequent critical injuries by the driver. One can only feel sorry for this sufferer. Better yet, upgrade the “Jack of all trades” skill so that the commander can successfully replace a shell-shocked driver.

Small visibility of 350 meters, depriving players of the opportunity to shoot at their own light.

Tactical Tips

The IS-3 is a very versatile and universal tank. So its use is limited, essentially, by the player’s imagination and personal skill. In battle, you can safely try on the role of a classic heavy breakthrough tank or behave like a ST. When you get to the top of the list, it is better to choose standard directions for TT and methodically press on them, using the support of your allies. At the bottom of the list, the IS-3 turns into an effective support for high-level heavies. Covering and being covered by allies, “Grandfather” with his BL-9 is able to help the team almost better than others.

It would take a long time to tell you how to play the IS-3. The main thing is NOT to play it like a tank destroyer. The tank does not tolerate such disrespect for its dignity, and standing in the bushes at the base, you will achieve nothing but mocking ridicule from the team.

Equipment: gun rammer, vertical stabilizer and improved ventilation.

Strong-headed stubborn T-54 region

The younger brother of the legendary 54, the T-54 Lightweight is a Tier VIII light tank that came to the game with update 0.9.3. A smart scout, capable of standing up for himself in duels with classmates and easily destroying a careless tank destroyer alone. The machine has no obvious disadvantages, has all the characteristics necessary for a comfortable game and rightfully takes its place in our top list.

Advantages of the T-54 region:

The strongest armor among Tier VIII armored vehicles.

Excellent dynamics, maneuverability and acceleration.

Good aiming speed of the gun (2.3 seconds).

Large margin of safety (1200 units).

Decent armor penetration with a basic 175 mm projectile.

Good hull rotation and turret rotation speed.

Excellent rate of fire.

There are only two disadvantages:

Not the best view at its level - 390 meters.

High silhouette and large dimensions.

Tactical Tips

T-54 region is a classic reconnaissance aircraft. His task - to shine, actively or passively - depends on the map and the level of the team. From the very beginning of the battle, you need to take advantageous positions and try to detect the movement of the main enemy forces. A good LT player always monitors the minimap and has 2-3 escape options. There is no need to fly forward with a saber drawn: a T-54 region destroyed at the beginning of the battle will only benefit the enemy team.

The second half of the battle most often becomes decisive. The task of the owner of the T-54 region is to be in the right place at the right time and help the allies in destroying enemy equipment. In open space, the tank feels much more comfortable than in city streets or corridor directions on maps.

Equipment: coated optics, improved ventilation, gun rammer/vertical stabilizer.

Teutonic Ninja – Rhm.-Borsig Waffentrager

A secretive killer with a magnificent weapon, excellent camouflage and a complete lack of armor, a full-fledged member of the “We live in the bushes” sect, the German tank destroyer, Rhm.-Borsig Waffentrager could not help but make it onto our list. Covered with pieces of cardboard instead of armor, “Borshchik,” as the tankers affectionately nicknamed him, takes on a well-thought-out strategy and a competent choice of positions. Playing on the third line, as a support and sniper, is a priority. “Borscht” simply has no other roles: any light turns into a world of pain, and a barrage of enemy fire falls on the head of the detected vehicle. Rhm.-Borsig Waffentrager owners are not liked. Moreover, they are hated and feared. But so much the better for you and your team, right? Let's talk about the advantages of the car and its disadvantages.

Pros:

Low profile and one of the best camouflage ratios on the level.

Excellent choice of weapons: a powerful cannon with the highest one-time damage and an accurate, balanced railgun with excellent accuracy and fast aiming.

High maneuverability.

Minuses:

Weak engine.

One of the worst armor in the game.

Small elevation angles.

High level of fighting.

Tactical Tips

“Borshchik” is a machine with pronounced advantages and disadvantages. You need to play it extremely carefully. Remember your most careful play on the predecessor tank destroyer and multiply it three times. The Rhm.-Borsig Waffentrager should always be either behind cover or in bushes that camouflage it. The combat tactics on it are very simple: hide, wait and shoot. Or drive out from behind cover, shoot and hide. By following these two rules, a Borscht player will be able to inflict a lot of damage. imbalance advises choosing the K44/L55 gun with a caliber of 128 millimeters. It is much easier to use without spending credits on “gold” shells.

Equipment: gun rammer, reinforced aiming drives and coated optics/stereo tube.

American station wagon – T32

If the previous vehicle on the list has distinct advantages and disadvantages, then the American T32 heavy tank is the center of balance. A strong middle peasant, capable of more. This is exactly how one can characterize the creation of the thoughts of American designers. The incredibly strong turret and vertical aiming angles characteristic of all “Americans” predetermine the game on this vehicle, making all kinds of shelters and folds of the terrain a real salvation for the T32. Hiding behind a hill and putting up its impenetrable tower, the TT is able to stop attacks from opponents that outnumber the number of allies on the flank. Methodical and calm play from cover and a strong tower is an ideal environment for the “thirty-two”, in which the tank feels like a fish in water.

Advantages:

Great review.

Good hull armor with rational angles of inclination.

Excellent armor in the front of the turret.

Excellent vertical aiming angles.

Good rate of fire (1524 damage per minute).

Minuses:

Weakly protected sides and stern of the hull.

Not the best weapon at the level: penetration and average one-time damage leave much to be desired.

Tactical Tips

T32 is good because it is very easy to use. First of all, you need to choose a direction. The tank has the necessary set of qualities that allow it to both defend and actively attack. It is worth giving preference to places on the map where you can hide your body and show your enemies your impenetrable forehead. Considering the poor penetration rate of a conventional projectile, you will have to load more “gold” supplies into the ammunition load. However, the tactics on the T32 are simple and effective: find cover, hide the hull and shoot your opponents from the turret.

Nimble and dangerous – Spahpanzer Ru 251

Spahpanzer Ru 251 or simply “Rushka” is the pinnacle of the German line of light tanks. The vehicle copes well with its main task, reconnaissance. Solid visibility, low silhouette and the highest top speed in the game. Passive or active reconnaissance, an excellent high-damage weapon and incredible high-explosive shells make this tank one of the best tanks in the game. Let's move on to the pros and cons of the car.

Advantages:

Huge maximum speed – 80 km/h.

Excellent dynamics and turning speed.

Excellent penetration for a Tier VIII tank of 190 units.

Good visibility (400 meters).

Decent stabilization when shooting on the move.

An impressive safety margin of 1200 units.

Minuses:

No armor.

Hits from land mines practically guarantee critical damage and concussion of the crew.

Ramming is contraindicated: its light weight and “cardboard-like” appearance make the Ru-251 a victim in a collision with almost any car.

Tactical Tips

The Ru-251 can do everything on the field that a light tank can do and even more. It makes sense to carry all three types of shells on it, since land mines, when penetrating 102 units, have a one-time damage of 320. That is, land mines can be fired at vulnerable points and at weakly armored tanks.

What to do on the battlefield? Move. Speed is the main advantage of the Rushka and it must be used. But moving around the map should not be chaotic and meaningless. The tank requires careful play. By the middle of the battle, Ru-251 turns from a firefly into a lone hunter. But you should never forget that the best tactics on a light tank are tactics based on circumstances. The main thing is to always have an escape route.

This concludes our hit parade. Ahead are the top lists for Tier IX and X vehicles, where you most likely won’t be able to get away with five tanks. Good luck in your battles!
