Computers and modern gadgets

If you have programs installed on your computer that you use very often, then they should be placed on the taskbar. This will speed up access to them, as well as reduce the time to search for a shortcut to a particular program.

At the end of the installation of most programs, you will be prompted " Create shortcut on desktop», « Create a shortcut in the start menu" And " Create Shortcut in Quick Access Toolbar". That's it " Quick Access Toolbar” and there is a taskbar, or rather an area in it. It is located next to the Start menu.

As you can see in the image above, in this case there are 3 shortcuts in it: Yandex browser, Explorer, Microsoft Word text editor. Let's try adding another program to the taskbar. For example, let it be the Paint.NET graphics editor. For this you must:

1. Right-click on the program shortcut on the desktop or in the Start menu.

2. Context menus will open, in which you need to find the option " Pin to taskbar».

After that, a program shortcut will be added to the taskbar, and you can have quick access to it. Such an operation can only be carried out with shortcuts to programs or games, but it is impossible with photos or documents, and this is usually not necessary.

What should a person do who, for the first time in his life, has purchased a smartphone on the Android OS and does not know how to use it? There are a large number of instructional articles on how to use and configure the device. But there are few places where you can find out how to download applications for android. The process of downloading, installing and uninstalling applications on any Android smartphone will be considered and described.

Some facts

It's no secret that the best Android apps have been free for a long time. Of course, there is a share of developers who require the user to pay, but most often such programs have free counterparts. No, this is not a call to use just such applications, but just an explanation of the current situation in the Play Market. Also, Russian applications for Android are gaining great popularity in our time, which are sometimes no worse than their foreign counterparts.

The main classification of applications available for download in the Play Market consists of the sections "Games", "Best", "Editor's Choice" and "Family Friendly". There is also a sorting by sections, which will be discussed in more detail later.

A set of standard applications

So, in the hands lies the coveted smartphone based on the Android OS. It is already on, activated and ready to go. It is worth considering all the applications that are provided “bundled” with the operating system. It should be mentioned right away that, depending on the manufacturer, device and Android version, the set of pre-installed applications may change, but the main ones most often coincide.

Among the main applications, it is worth highlighting "Phone", "Messages" and "Contacts". The Music app for Android will let you listen to your favorite tracks, the Camera app will take pictures of the best moments (if available), and the Gallery app, in turn, will show an archive of photos and videos, not only taken on a smartphone, but also downloaded via USB cable or the Internet. Standard applications also include "Clock", "Mail", "Calendar", "Notes" and "Explorer", which allows you to delete, move and copy various files located on any storage media.

But sometimes this set is not enough. For example, the standard Music application for Android does not suit everyone, so you can always download third-party software. All that is required is to go to the pre-installed application "Play Market" and download. The following are instructions on how to do this.

Internet connection

The first step is to make sure you have an internet connection. There are two options here: connecting via mobile data (Internet directly via cellular) or via Wi-Fi. While everything is clear with the first choice (it is necessary to take into account that the provider may charge a separate fee for the use of mobile Internet), the Wi-Fi option requires clarification.

For those who are not in the know: to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi, you must have an access point. It can be a router located in the user's apartment, through which a PC, laptop or TV is connected, for any free access point in public places. As a result, to connect to the Internet, you should go to the "Settings" menu and then select the necessary item: "SIM card management" - check the "Data transfer" checkbox to the "Enabled" mode, or use the "Wi-Fi" submenu and connect to the access point. The first step has been completed.

Create a Google account

So, after a successful connection to the Internet, you need to make sure that an account for managing web services, such as the Play Market, Gmail, and others, is configured on the device. To do this, in the "Settings" menu, you must select the "Accounts and sync" item (in rare cases, the location of this submenu may change, so you may have to search). All that is required is to click on the "Add" button and select the type of account (in this case it is Google). After that, following simple and intuitive steps, you should create an account, while indicating the desired email address, password from it and information about yourself (full name, date of birth). After completing all the steps, an account will be automatically created, and you can start working.

First visit to Play Market

In order to understand how to download applications on Android, it is necessary to fulfill the two previous conditions. After that, you can launch the Play Market and dive headlong into the "sea" of applications with unlimited developers' imagination and unique content.

When you first start, you should read the privacy policy and terms of use - this will be prompted by the application itself. You also need to decide if you want to receive the Google Play newsletter. The application itself is divided into two parts: "Games and applications" and "Entertainment", which correspond to the tabs at the top of the screen. This article only covers the first tab.

The first thing that appears to the eye is the search bar with the inscription "Google Play". If you need to download a specific application or you know an incomplete name, you can use the search, and the Play Market will automatically present the most suitable applications for the search query.

Below is a block of primary navigation buttons. The best applications for Android, respectively, are under the link "Best". In the "Games" section, you can find applications of the corresponding direction for every taste and color. Under the "Categories" link, there is a list of games and programs that are sorted according to their subject. "For the whole family" - here you can find both games and applications that will interest both children and their parents. The last link is referred to as "Editor's Choice" and is a general destination list that includes apps directly selected by the Google Play team for everyday convenience.

Installing apps and games

Directly to download this or that application or game, you need to click on the "Install" button and accept the installation conditions. After that, the download process will begin. Its speed depends on the size of the software, the speed of the Internet connection and the performance of the smartphone. The Android application language will be automatically selected according to the selected OS interface language. When the installation process is completed, you can click on the "Open" button. The application will start.

other methods

How to download applications on "Android" from the Play Market, in principle, is clear. But there is another way - installing games and programs manually. All that is required for this is to download to a smartphone by transferring from a PC or from an external flash drive. After that, you need to find the appropriate file through the "Explorer" and click on it to install.

It should be noted that this action will require special permission to install applications from unknown sources. To do this, in the "Settings" menu, select the "Privacy" sub-item and check the box "Unknown sources".

The first and main advice: do not install those applications in which you are not sure, or they are obtained from unknown resources. Indeed, among them there may be malicious programs that can disable the operating system and prevent you from using your smartphone. When installing such applications, it should be mentioned that everything is done at the peril and risk of the user, and no one except himself is responsible for this.

It is also necessary to understand that in different versions of Android, the names of certain pre-installed applications and menu items may differ, but the process itself is the same. And I would like to add that figuring out how to download applications on Android is not so difficult. The main thing is to have a little patience, and everything will definitely work out.

On many smartphones, the Android operating system is installed, where initially there are a lot of icons behind which various applications are hidden. Before we figure out how to put an application on Android, let's figure out what an Android application means?

The Android application is a program with clear functionality, which is designed to work normally on a smartphone, taking into account its capabilities. For example, such a program can be a game, a State Services application, a Sberbank application, a VKontakte application, and numerous other Android applications.

On the other hand, an Android application is an "apk" file (from the English Android Package).

The "apk" file is an executive or installation file. It contains the application code and all the resources needed to get the application up and running. After going through the procedure for installing the apk file, you can use the application.

In accordance with the fact that the Android application is

  • or a normal application
  • or an application in the form of an apk file,

Then you can install the application on Android in two ways:

  1. like a regular application that is installed from the store, or
  2. as an application that is launched through the installation apk file.

Applications: pre-installed and those that are installed by the user

Devices running on the Android operating system already contain a large number of applications from the moment of purchase. Such applications are called differently:

  • preinstalled,
  • factory,
  • default applications
  • etc.

Preinstalled software typically includes applications that provide antivirus protection, device navigation, geolocation, communication, and more. When the user gets comfortable with the functionality that has already been installed, he may need to add applications on his own, of his choice.

Users who have just started mastering Android often have a question: why do we need applications for Android, and even in such a quantity? Is it possible to do without them?

You can not install new applications, and turn off already pre-installed applications. Accordingly, in this case, the smartphone becomes a “morally obsolete” mobile device, which only allows you to call, send / receive SMS and see the time. Agree that such a “stripped down” functionality of a smartphone suits few people.

In any case, as you master it, there is a need to install any applications: VKontakte, Facebook, WhatsApp or others. As they say, appetite comes with eating. Android apps are easy to install, and if you don't like them, you can easily uninstall them. Below we will consider these actions in more detail using the example of an Android application for Yandex.Mail.

How to put an application on Android from stores: the first way

The word "shop" does NOT mean at all that the Android application will be paid. The store can have both free and paid apps.

Installing applications is easiest from the Google Play Market. In the Play Store, it is convenient to search for the necessary applications and find out information about them. Installing applications from the Play Store is carried out by clicking on the "Install" button.

Consider how to download Yandex.Mail on Android. The application is supported on smartphones and tablets based on Android 4.0.3 and higher. To download other applications, the steps will be almost exactly the same.

The Play Market app is pre-installed for Android. Find the Play Market icon among Android Applications and open it:

Rice. 1. You can find the Play Market in Android Applications

Having opened the Play Market store, you need to look for the Yandex.Mail application. For this you can:

1 in fig. 2 - enter "Yandex mail" in the search bar and
2 in fig. 2 - the application will be found:

Rice. 2. Download Yandex Mail for Android from the Play Market

It is important to open the official Android applications, because, alas, there are many "fake" ones.

Open the Yandex.Mail application in the Google Play Market to download and install it:

Rice. 3. Install Yandex Mail on Android

Before installing the application on Android, for security purposes

Rice. 4. Accept permissions before downloading Yandex.Mail on Android

By clicking the "Accept" permission for Yandex.Mail, the application will be downloaded to Android. And you will be able to open mail or delete:

After the Yandex.Mail application is installed, you can later find the mail icon in Android Applications:

Rice. 6. Installed Yandex.Mail can be found in Applications

The Google Play Market is NOT the only store where you can download Android apps.

  • From domestic stores, Yandex Store can be distinguished.
  • The American Amazon AppStore is also widely known.

How to uninstall an Android app

It happens that they used the application for Android, but then for some reason it does not suit you and there is a desire to delete it. The pre-installed application can only be turned off, it cannot be deleted.

And those applications that the user installed himself are easy to remove. For example, consider how to remove the Yandex.Mail application.

Open "Settings" Android:

Rice. 7. Android settings can be found in Applications

In the Settings we find the "Device" tab and go to the Application Manager:

Rice. 8. Android Settings - Device - Application Manager

In the Application Manager, from the whole variety of applications, you need to find the Yandex.Mail application, which will need to be deleted:

Rice. 9. Find Yandex.Mail in the Application Manager

Before deleting Yandex.Mail, it is advisable to:

1 in fig. 10 - Clear cache,
2 - Clear data, then
3 in fig. 10 - Delete Yandex.Mail.

Rice. 10. Clear the cache, data and delete Yandex.Mail

Delete the Yandex.Mail application means that such an application will not be in the smartphone. But this does not mean at all that along with the application it will be deleted.

If you need to delete your Yandex.mail account, then I wrote about how to do it on a computer.

If there is no "Delete" button for any application, or this button is not pressed, then such an application cannot be deleted, because without it, Android will not be able to function normally.

How to put an application on Android: the second way is an apk file

Apps on the Android system can also be installed by directly clicking on the "apk" file, which was NOT obtained from the Play Store. Such a file can be delivered not immediately, but at a convenient time. In addition, such a file can be sent to a friend.

There is an Apkpure store where you can download an apk file for any Android application:

Please note that in order to install applications NOT from the Play Store, you will need to enable the "Unknown sources" option in the device's security settings on Android.

  • To do this, open the "Settings" of Android (Fig. 7),
  • in the Settings we find the “System” tab (2 in Fig. 11),
  • and in the System open "Security" (3 in Fig. 11):

Sense 7 has not yet been tested by many, but today it can be installed as a launcher on almost all Android devices, and it is completely ported to HTC One M8. In addition, you can buy the M9 today in Russia. However, let's get down to business. Sense 7 is a new version of the most stable user interface that took root back in 2009 with the announcement of the HTC Tattoo. It immediately gained popularity due to its intuitive, user-friendly interface, which also looked very attractive.

A total of 14 versions of Sense have been released, including the most recent Sense 7. Today, after years of updates, we are seeing a completely different look at the display of information - this is not the Sense that fans of the company loved - in which, although it is possible, it is very difficult to catch glimpses old versions.

In addition to new themes, slightly improved applications and a redesigned appearance, Sense 7 also received an interesting widget on the desktop. The principle of its operation is to display frequently used applications in one place or another. The widget itself understands whether you are at home or at work, then it analyzes the use of the device and dynamically sorts the list of applications. This, of course, raises some questions: “How often will the smartphone analyze the situation?”. After all, this probably requires considerable resources that will strain the already problematic Snapdragon 810.

However, again, this is a separate topic for discussion. Today we are only interested in convenience. Do you want the icon of a specific app to always be pinned to the Work tab? No problem. You just need to pinch and hold your finger on the icon. At this point, the application will be pinned, and in the future it will always be in this tab. Note that after such a procedure, the icon will be fixed only in a certain tab, not in all.

Sense 7 will be a good experience for many users. And while iPhone fans are gnashing their teeth at the development of Android, Sense 7 users will simply “use” a convenient shell.

According to colleagues from androidauthority, very soon (in May) the new version will be available for HTC One M8, Desire EYE and other top devices of the company. The fate of the One M7 is unknown. There was talk of a possible upgrade to , but it’s unclear whether this will be a simple upgrade, or a fresh look in the face of Sense 7. In any case, the “romodels” do not sleep ...
