Materials needed: 0.2 mm wire, ferrite rod
type 2000NM (is a horizontal scanning transformer in
domestic televisions). It is important that its dimensions are of the order of 10 by 50
mm, if not, then you will have to manually bring the ferrite into the desired shape,
or use instead of a solid rod a lot of glued between
a ferrite ring. Also for the manufacture of a working transformer
for a stun gun, you will need a polypropylene water tube
with a diameter of 2 cm (can be bought at a plumbing store). Choosing a piece
tubes 50 mm long, we make grooves along its perimeter, in depth and
about 2 mm wide. The finished structure looks like
the following scheme:

Now about winding. Before starting, do not forget to leave a small
a piece of the initial wire sticking out so as not to forget where you started
wind. After wrapping all sections of the tube, also wrap the ferrite rod, and
exactly 20 turns of wire with a diameter of 0.8, stretching them along their entire length
ferrite.

Now wrap the product insulating so that it is effortless, but
quite tightly entered the tube of polypropylene. Attention! winding
wires to the ferrite core must be carried out synchronously with
polypropylene part, that is, observing the general direction of winding, for
slow-witted - wind in both cases either clockwise or counterclockwise.
After all the ordeals, you can take revenge on the transformer by flooding it with paraffin
(previously placed in a cardboard container and making sure that
the paraffin was not quite hot).

A do-it-yourself stun gun will work due to
DC voltage converter (diagram in the figure below), output
device is connected to a multiplier, respectively, on capacitors 220 pF per
ten kilovolts and on KTs-106 diodes, and you can power it at least from
conventional batteries, the main thing is that they give at least 9-10 V.

Well, now, without wasting time, let's get to work. The scheme of the device is now in front of you:


This is a diagram of a classic stun gun. The voltage from the power source is supplied to the boost converter circuit, at the output of which we get a high voltage of high frequency. This voltage is rectified to DC by a diode rectifier and stored in a capacitor. When the voltage on the capacitor is higher than the breakdown voltage of the spark gap or spark gap, the entire capacitance of the capacitor is discharged through air breakdown to the primary winding of the high-voltage coil. On the secondary winding of the same coil, we get a discharge with a voltage of about 50,000 V and higher (it all depends on the parameters of the coil).


It turned out crooked, but it will not affect the work in any way. And if you want your homemade boards to look like factory ones, then you should order them from the factory.

It is important to note that the discharges cannot cause injury. They cause only pain shock, disorientation and muscle spasms that do not last long. Such a shocker is not capable of harming health. It is this circuitry of the electroshock device that is used all over the world for the construction of both civilian and police electroshock devices. The power of this particular option lies in the range from 7 to 10 watts. The shocker has a two-position switch. The first mode is the removal from the fuse. In this case, the red indicator LED lights up. It is worth pressing the button and the shocker will begin to crack.

It remains only to print the case on a 3d printer. The thickness of the walls is chosen so that the shocker is not afraid of bumps and falls, in general, it can be safely used as a baton. The handle is comfortable, with notches for the fingers. The start button of the device is hidden under the index finger. The body color is not the most suitable, but what the author printed was what it was. Well, now let's move on to the filling.

Power supply- lithium ion.


Two 18650 standard banks connected in series. This homemade product uses batteries from a laptop battery. It is these banks that can be discharged with currents of about 5A, but before installation, the author conducted several experiments, during which it turned out that they calmly endure 7-8A of discharge current and up to 15A for 20 seconds. And so the author advises using these batteries, they are high-current, designed for vaping, they can be discharged with currents of 20-30A.


With the battery, I think everything is clear. It is only worth adding that the author removed the factory coating and replaced it with heat-resistant adhesive tape for reliability, and then connected the cans with nickel tape by contact welding - everything is as it should be.


The battery is ready. Battery protection system, of course it is needed. But it so happened that the author found a board with protection for 2 lithium-ion cans at 3A based on the HY2120 chip, and our circuit eats much more.

The author of course tried to increase the protection current of this thing. To do this, he developed his board, raising the protection current to 6A, but this was not enough. Therefore, a battery without any protection and balancing boards is bad, so the author has already ordered a board with the required current. In the meantime, we will have a protection relay that will not work if the battery is discharged below 6V.


High voltage converter.



This is a push-pull autogenerator-type boost converter, built on the basis of powerful field-effect transistors. The shocker is equipped with a fuse. In order to avoid accidental switching on, you first need to turn on the device (the fuse indicator lights up), then press the button, and the circuit starts.

Very often, homemade shockers use a trigger system based on a regular button, but the author always used a relay. The fact is that the circuit consumes colossal currents from the power source, and finding compact buttons with a current of more than 10A is very problematic. Therefore, a low-power button is used, pressing which supplies power to the relay coil.






The relay closes and the main power supply is already flowing through the relay contacts. The relay coil voltage depends on the power source. An ordinary 12-volt relay of this kind works fine from a 6-7V source.

But if possible, put a relay with a coil voltage of 6V. The relay contacts are designed for a current of 20A.

Switch.




Finding a compact switch with a current of 10-20A is not a problem. Here is the most common switch, such even in computer power supplies can be found. The converter circuit, as mentioned earlier, is built on the basis of 2 field keys.



In this case, there are irfz44 transistors. The locks of the keys are shunted to ground by resistors.

This to some extent helps the keys to close by discharging the shutter. Zener diodes are used to protect the gates from overvoltage. They need to be taken with a stabilization voltage from 6.2V to 12V, preferably single-watt.

Take gate limiting resistors with a resistance of 330 ohms to 1 kOhm. It is not necessary to put the keys on the radiator, as the shocker is designed for short-term operation. Before assembling, make sure that all components are in good condition. And most importantly - check the transistors for authenticity, otherwise they may fly out at the first start.

The inductor is wound on a compact iron powder core. Wire 0.85 mm. The number of turns can vary from 12 to 20. The dimensions of the ring are not critical, they can be found in the output parts of switching power supplies, they are after the rectifiers.

Here it is a full-fledged full-wave, in other words, an ordinary diode bridge. It was built on high-voltage diode pillars of the Soviet model KTs106G, but there are a lot of imported analogues.

Diodes must be designed for a reverse voltage of 6,000 to 10,000 V, a current of at least 10 mA, and must be able to operate at frequencies of 20 or more kilohertz.

The storage film capacitor is designed for a voltage of 1600-2000V, a capacitance from 0.15 to 0.47 microfarads (the larger the capacitance, the less often the discharges, but more joules in one discharge).


In parallel with this capacitor, a high-resistance resistor is connected to discharge the capacitances after the shocker is turned off.


There are 3 discharge resistors in this case. They are connected in series, the resistance of each lies in the range from 3.3 to 7 MΩ. This chain is hidden under heat shrink.

In fact, this is an air gap through which the capacitance of the capacitor is discharged to the primary winding of the high-voltage coil. The arrester is needed with a breakdown voltage of 1000-1500V. The necessary arresters can be bought or picked out from xenon ignition blocks, but there the arresters are usually 350-400V. In order to get the arrester for the desired voltage, the author connected several pieces in series.

The stun gun creates a strong pain effect and acts on the muscles, paralyzing the attacker for a certain time. This device may only be used by persons of legal age. Principle of operation

What is the principle of operation of a stun gun? The circuit shown in the article assumes the following: the ignition capacitor acts on the transformer, resulting in a spark that breaks through several centimeters of air. The capacitor at this moment directly hits with all its energy. The use of a conductive channel allows the charge to be carried out without large losses, while maintaining not only the power of the device, but also convenient dimensions. How to make a stun gun at home? Let's get to work.

The transformer is the main part of the device, one of the most difficult to manufacture. To work, you will need a B22 armor core made of 2000NM ferrite. An enameled wire (0.01 mm) will need to be wound on it. You need to wind until there is about 1.5 mm of space left in the core. An excellent result will be obtained if you wind it with electrical tape. The result will be 5-6 layers.

It should be noted that it is quite difficult for non-professionals to make a stun gun with their own hands. The circuit may seem quite simple, but during manufacturing there are many details that must be taken into account. This is especially true for isolation. The wound wire must be insulated with one layer of electrical tape, and then another 6 turns should be made, but already with a denser wire with a diameter of about 0.8 mm. When making the third turn, you will need to stop and twist, after that you can continue and add 3 more turns. To ensure the strength of the structure, you can use superglue. At the end of the work, the cups need to be glued or wrapped with electrical tape again. Contacts should not be in contact with the environment, otherwise we risk inflicting electric shock on ourselves instead of defense.

Further, for work you will need a tube with a diameter of 20 mm and a length of 5 cm, made of polypropylene. In a stun gun, this part will be a sectional frame. To do this, use a drill to fix the bolt, which is suitable for the diameter of the tube, and carefully groove the grooves with an emery cloth. It is important not to damage the pipe during operation and, as a result, to obtain sections measuring 2 by 2 mm. After that, with a clerical knife, you need to make an incision up to 3 mm wide along the frame without damaging the pipe.

Second phase

So, we continue to consider how to make a stun gun with your own hands. For subsequent work, you will need a wire with a diameter of 0.2 mm. It must be wound on all sections of the frame, while it should not go beyond. For more convenient work, it is advisable to solder the beginning of the wire or fix it well with glue, leave it free at the end.

A ferrite rod with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 50 mm must be processed using an emery wheel. The result should be a round part. The ferrite rod must be wrapped with electrical tape and made on top of 20 turns. You need to use the same wire as for the first transformer, that is, 0.8 mm. Be sure to wind in the same direction, after which you need to insulate the wire in several layers.

The main part for a homemade stun gun

The prepared rod must be inserted inside the frame, from the side where the HV winding ends, and the two windings are connected together. After that, the transformer must be placed in a cardboard box and filled with hot paraffin. It only needs to be melted, but not heated to a high temperature. It is necessary to fill in paraffin with a margin, because after hardening it will settle a little. The excess part will be easier to cut off. Now we have the main part that will allow us to make a stun gun with our own hands. The diagram clearly shows the location of the main elements.

Charging the device

The igniting conder is charged through the bridge, and the combat conder is charged through additional diodes. Thanks to this, one chain is not created. Any transistor can be used, there are no special requirements for the resistor either. The capacitor provides inrush current limitation and serves to protect the converter. If the stun gun assembly scheme provides for the installation of a powerful transistor, then the capacitor can be omitted.

Installed batteries size AA in the amount of 6 pieces. Transistors are mounted on a radiator. It is desirable that it has insulating gaskets. We install all the prepared parts. Most importantly, you need to fix the HV-pins, the distance between which should be more than 15 mm. Otherwise, the stun gun has every chance of quickly burning out.

Charge frequency

Whether to use a charger for a stun gun or not depends on the desire of the owner. Batteries are the best for power. The stun gun does not require a specific setting, it should immediately work. If these batteries are used, the discharge frequency should be close to 35 Hertz. If this figure is lower, the transformer may be incorrectly or poorly wound, or other transistors should be selected. Empirically, you need to select the frequency of discharges. This is done through divorce. You need to test the discharge frequency for 5 seconds. The distance should not be the maximum possible, otherwise at one fine moment the stun gun may burn out. Note that air breakdown is affected by pressure, humidity and other external conditions.

Frame

What do you need for a homemade stun gun? Thick cardboard is suitable as the body of the device, on which you can immediately draw the location of all the parts, and then proceed with their installation and fastening. It is best to bend the material with pliers. Glue is applied to the outside. It is important to ensure the tightness of the seam. It is better to place the parts inside the case first, and then start fixing them one by one.

Determine a place to charge the battery and the start button. It is desirable to treat the stun gun with heat shrink, this will help to drown some elements a little inside and provide very good protection from the external environment. After using heat shrink, you need to check the operation of the stun gun again. Aluminum rivets should be used as protective electrodes.

The final stage of production

After checking the operation of the stun gun and the tightness of the entire system, you can proceed to pour the device with epoxy resin. After that, you need to wait 6-7 hours. At this stage, you can cut off the extra parts, give a convenient shape, until the epoxy is very hard. You can process the device with sandpaper and then varnish the finished case. The instruction manual for the stun gun does not require special explanation. This device is used for self-defense purposes, does not cause much harm to health and does not need a license.

Power of the stun gun

If the spark between the contacts of the device is small and raises doubts about the effectiveness, then you can check it. stun gun? For this purpose, it is sufficient to use a conventional mains fuse, which must be placed between the contacts, without creating a direct interaction between them. If the fuse blows, it will indicate that the output current is already over 250 mA. As a result of competent work, a compact and reliable means of protection with the necessary power is obtained.

The disadvantages of such a stun gun should also include the fact that the device must be recharged after use. For many years I have been making similar devices and each time the technology of circuitry is somewhat different. In search of a convenient and very powerful stun gun, I created a whole notebook with the development of stun guns, it is these archives that are offered to your attention. The circuit of this shocker on one transistor is very simple - a converter on a KT819 and a push-pull voltage multiplier. Now think: only two capacitors are not able to stun - but you are deeply mistaken, the power of the shocker when powered by 12 volts 2 amperes reaches 30 watts, and is able to half light an incandescent lamp with a voltage of 220 volts 60 watts.


In the photographs, the shocker is powered by a mobile phone battery with a capacity of 650 mA / h, the arc with this power supply is 1 centimeter, but when powered by 12 volts, the arc reaches 4-5 centimeters. For such parameters, you need to find capacitors with a capacity of 10 kilovolts 22000 picofarads, the code marking is attached to the article. In fact, such imported capacitors can be easily found on the radio market. The diodes in the voltage multiplier are high-voltage - domestic kts106 is the best option.

The converter is assembled on the basis of a simple blocking generator on a single transistor, a transistor - kt819 / kt805 and its imported analogues, or any other similar parameters. 100 ohm resistor with 1 watt power. The transformer is taken from a computer power supply. The primary winding contains 10 turns with a tap from the middle, it is wound with 4 strands of wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm each. Then we isolate the primary winding with several layers of transparent tape and wind the secondary winding, it contains 2000 turns of 0.08 mm wire, we isolate the winding every 80 turns. It is desirable to fill the finished transformer with epoxy resin to avoid breakdowns. And now the main secret of this shocker is a spark gap!


It's not a secret for you that the main disadvantage of shockers on a voltage multiplier is that when in contact with human skin, the pulses close through the resistance of the skin and the capacitors do not have time to charge, the spark gap serves as a spare gap, that is, the charge flows constantly through it, this voltage enough to paralyze after 1 second of using an electroshock device. The case is made of plastic, you can use the case from a Chinese LED flashlight. The shocker must be equipped with a non-latching button and a switch. It is convenient to use two batteries from a mobile phone as a power source for this stun gun on one transistor.
