Computers and modern gadgets

A4Tech is a well-known manufacturer of keyboards and other peripherals for computers. His devices are improved from time to time, and they also update the software that is needed to support the performance of the device - the driver. In modern versions of Windows, updating drivers for important system components (the keyboard is one of them) occurs in the background and practically does not interfere with the user.

However, this does not always happen, and due to the fact that the keyboard has not received the necessary driver update, various problems may occur. In the article, we will look at how you can independently update the keyboard drivers from the manufacturer A4Tech.

How to find and install keyboard drivers from A4Tech

It is worth clarifying that for keyboards that have non-standard functionality and a set of keys, it is imperative to install drivers and additional software manually, since the system sometimes does not always correctly recognize this device. As for the usual standard keyboards, the system usually determines everything itself correctly and installs the necessary software in the background.

Option 1: Through the official website of the manufacturer

First of all, when installing drivers, you need to go to the manufacturer's official website and try to install them from this resource. For A4Tech products, the step-by-step instructions will look like this:

  1. Go to the official download page for software for A4Tech devices.
  2. Some antiviruses block the manufacturer's official page because they suspect that it may contain malware and/or other unwanted software. Fortunately, the official site is completely safe. If you have problems with your antivirus, then just disable it for the duration of the steps. Usually, modern antivirus programs rarely work on this site.
  3. On the page, you need to select the category to which your device belongs. This is done through a drop-down menu. Since we are looking for drivers for keyboards, pay attention to the sections "Wired Keyboards", "Sets and Wireless Keyboards" and "Gaming Keyboards". Select one of these sections that best suits the keyboard you are currently using.
  4. Now specify the model of your keyboard in a special field. If you do not know it, then look at it on the body of the keyboard itself. It is usually written on the back. After selecting the desired model from the drop-down menu, click on the "Open" button.
  5. Next, you will be redirected to a page that will list all the software supported by the keyboard. Also here you can see information related to the keyboard driver itself - weight, release date, operating system support and a short description from the manufacturer.
  6. Click on the "Download" button. As a result, an archive with an installation file should be downloaded to your computer. Wait for the download to finish. After it, you will need to unzip the contents of this archive to your computer. For your own convenience, it is better to do this in a separate folder.
  7. Among the extracted files, find an element called Setup. It must have an executable file extension - EXE. Sometimes it happens that such a file has a different name and you just have to search for it by extension.
  8. Run the file. If the operating system asks you to confirm your actions, then additionally click on the "Run" button or give permission if administrator rights are requested.
  9. The A4Tech keyboard driver installer interface will now open. Here you only need to read the information provided in the window and click on the "Next" button to continue the installation.
  10. You will then need to specify the future location of the installed driver. By default, it is installed on the local drive C. However, if you see fit, you can choose a different location for the installed drivers using the "Browse" button.
  11. Having decided on the installation location, click on the "Next" button.
  12. At this stage, the program will ask you to specify a name for the folder where the driver will be installed. Here it is recommended not to bother with this and leave all the default options by simply clicking on "Next".
  13. The next window gives the user the opportunity to check the previously entered information. If everything here is correct, then click on "Next".
  14. The installation process for the required software will start. It usually does not take long, although a lot depends on the configuration of your computer. Wait for the program installation to complete.
  15. At the end, a window will appear in which it will be written that the installation was completed successfully. Click Done.
  16. A keyboard icon should appear in the taskbar next to the time and date. If it is there, then everything went well. Click on it if you want to see the available settings.

This method is recommended most of all for implementation, as it involves installing the latest drivers directly from the device manufacturer's website. The above instructions can be taken as a sample, since sometimes the installation process still differs for different users. This usually depends on the selected keyboard model, driver release date, and other parameters.

Option 2: Third party software

This option does not always work perfectly, but it has the right to exist, as it implies a faster and easier installation of the software necessary for correct operation. However, it is not always performed correctly - sometimes an outdated version of the driver is installed or they are not installed at all. A significant advantage of this method is also the fact that other drivers on the computer are also updated, for example, video card drivers.

Today on the Internet you can find many programs that are responsible for automatically updating drivers. As an example, consider the implementation using DriverPack Solutions. This is a fairly simple utility that has an interface in Russian and is distributed free of charge.

  1. Go to the utility download page. There, click on the download button.
  2. An executable program file will be downloaded to the computer. Run it. It is worth noting that DriverPack Solution does not require installation and can be launched immediately after downloading.

  3. Once opened, the utility will scan the operating system for outdated drivers available for download. It won't take more than a minute.

  4. Based on the results of the scan, you will be prompted to install the detected drivers. However, do not rush, because along with them, additional software can be installed on your computer, for example, some kind of browser. Installing these programs will not harm the system, but they are not always needed by the user.
  5. To disable their installation, go to "Expert Mode". To do this, use the button of the same name at the bottom of the program window.

  6. Next, pay attention to the left menu. Here you need to open the "Soft" tab, which is marked with an icon in the form of 4 squares.
  7. There, uncheck the boxes for those programs that you are not going to install.

  8. After that, return back to the main window of the utility using the button in the form of a wrench. Here, by the way, you can select the drivers that will be installed. Some of them can be disabled.
  9. Click on the "Install All" button.

  10. Wait while the utility prepares a system restore point. This is a standard procedure that takes no more than a couple of minutes.
  11. After the restore point is created, the process of installing drivers and selected programs will begin directly (if you have not unchecked them). It takes a little time.

  12. When finished, it's best to restart your computer and check if the keyboard is working properly. Ideally, a keyboard icon should appear on the taskbar.

DriverPack Solution allows you to greatly save time on finding and installing the right drivers. However, he does not always cope with the task perfectly. Sometimes it happens that the required driver is not installed or installed incorrectly.

Option 3: Search by hardware ID

Each device connected to the computer is assigned a unique ID (sometimes there may be several IDs for one device). Using it, you can get comprehensive information about this device on specialized resources, as well as find up-to-date drivers for it (again, on the same resources).

We have already looked at how to search for drivers by hardware ID: How to find a driver by hardware ID

In short, you will have to do the following:

Option 4: Device Manager

This option is suitable in cases where you need to install only the most basic keyboard drivers. In case you are using a model with some specific features, it is better to use the methods described above.

Let's move on to implementing this method:

  1. Run the "Device Manager". How to do this was written above. If you have a different version of Windows, then it can be launched through the "Control Panel".
  2. Expand the "Keyboards" branch again.
  3. Now right-click on the desired item and select the "Update Drivers" option from the context menu.
  4. The system will offer options for searching and installing drivers. It is recommended to select the "Automatically search for updated drivers" option. The fact is that you most likely do not have the necessary files on your computer, so only this option remains.
  5. Wait while the system searches for and installs drivers.
  6. Restart your computer when finished.

Despite the fact that users often experience problems with keyboards during the installation of drivers, there is nothing difficult if you follow the instructions provided. If you have any difficulties and / or questions on the materials of the article, then leave comments. We will try to answer as quickly as possible.

Downloading a keyboard driver for a computer on Windows 10 is all that remains for you in a situation where the keyboard does not work. It is important to distinguish between the situation that the keyboard does not work from the very beginning or that it has broken after a long time of use. If you just installed the OS and the keyboard does not work, then the problem is probably in the drivers. If you have been using a computer for years and the keyboard suddenly stops working, then the matter is most likely a physical breakdown. Be that as it may, you can download the keyboard drivers and at least try to solve the problem with them.

Are there keyboard drivers

Many believe that the keyboard does not need drivers. But this is absolutely not true. The keyboard is a component like any other. Just because you've never installed keyboard drivers before doesn't mean you don't need to install them now. Usually, the system itself loads the necessary drivers. So before you didn't have to download them yourself. But if after installing a new OS, the keyboard does not work, then download the drivers and the problem will go away. Keyboard issues usually resolve after installing the drivers, but there are a few things you need to know:
  • There is no generic keyboard driver;
  • The driver is needed for a laptop keyboard and a regular keyboard;
  • The installed driver may "fly off";
If the problem persists after installing the driver, then there is a chance that the problem was not in the drivers. But if you did not physically break the keyboard, then try to revive it with the help of drivers. This option is unlikely if the keyboard has stopped working after a long time. Downloading a driver is a matter of minutes. If this solves your problem, then you can save a lot of money, because you do not have to buy a new one.

You need to download drivers for the keyboard not only on a computer, but also on a laptop. And if you use a wireless keyboard on a Windows 10 tablet, then you need to install drivers for it as well. Since there is no universal Keyboard driver, we post the program - . It will allow you to install any driver, including the keyboard driver. The program will cope even if the keyboard is wireless, that is, if you need a driver for a Bluetooth keyboard.

Desktop computers have two key input devices: the mouse and the keyboard. Therefore, when some kind of failure occurs and the keyboard / mouse stops working, the computer actually turns into useless hardware. We have already considered, and in this article we will analyze why the keyboard of stationary PCs may fail to work.

Checking the wires

The keyboard is connected to the system unit through two types of connectors - outdated PS / 2 or modern USB.

Initially, check the integrity of the wire itself, if there are no defects, we proceed to inspect the connectors. In the case of PS / 2, the plug contacts are often bent, in the worst case, they can be completely broken off when the user inserts the plug with all his strength, and he does not fit into the connector due to improper placement. If you have a newer keyboard connected to your computer via a USB connector, then simply switch the keyboard to a different USB port, since the contacts in them can also fail. ATTENTION: it is recommended to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard when the computer is turned off, or restart it after connecting. For example, in the case of a PS / 2 connector, the keyboard will not work with a 90% probability without restarting the computer.

Update the driver

If you have a special gaming keyboard or similar multimedia keyboards with a bunch of additional function buttons, then drivers should come with them. You can also download them from the official websites of manufacturers. In the case of simple keyboards, you can update the drivers using the Windows OS itself. Due to a software glitch, the keyboard driver may crash, so you need to reinstall it.

Open the menu Start - Control Panel - Device Manager. In the list of devices find Keyboards, click on the selected right mouse button and press Update drivers. In order for Windows to update the driver itself, the computer must be connected to the Internet. If for some reason the update failed, you will have to find the driver for your keyboard model on the Internet, download and install it.

As a rule, it is these two reasons that lead to the inoperability of the keyboard on stationary PCs in 99% of cases - broken connector contacts and crashed drivers. The remaining 1% is when the keyboard itself fails, as well as very exotic cases. For example, viruses that block the keyboard; Broken or incorrectly set BIOS settings.

Sometimes after starting Windows, the keyboard remains "deranged" (does not respond to keystrokes). At the same time, the indicator lights on the keyboard do not light up.

There are two main reasons for the malfunction: hardware (the keyboard or the port to which it is connected failed) or software (failure to load the driver).

If the keyboard is out of order, it must be replaced with a working one (or repaired).

What to do in case of a software failure?

1. You can try to restart your PC. After a reboot (if the keyboard is good) the operating system will "deal" with the keyboard drivers and the incident should usually be resolved.

2. You can use the keyboard without rebooting the PC (the mouse should function normally!).

For this:

Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System;

In the System Properties window, open the Hardware tab -> Device Manager;

In the Device Manager window, the keyboard will be marked with a yellow circle with a black exclamation point inside -> select it with the mouse;

Select menu Action -> Delete;

In the Device Removal Confirmation window, authorize the removal of the keyboard by clicking OK;

Close the Device Manager window;

On the Hardware tab of the System Properties window, click the Hardware Installation button;

In the Add Hardware Wizard window, click Next;

After a short search for hardware, the keyboard will be "found" (and the Num Lock indicator will turn on);

If the Change system settings window appears with the message “Installation of new devices is complete. You must restart your computer to complete the software installation. The new settings will only take effect after a system reboot. Reboot now? Yes/No", press No, since the keyboard is already working without rebooting;

In the Add Hardware Wizard window, click Finish;

Close the System Properties window;

You can work with your "clave".

Notes

1. The problem described in the article is observed on a PC with a PS / 2 keyboard.

2. The problem is usually caused by a failure to load the i8042 port driver (\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\i8042prt.sys). Less commonly, the keyboard class driver (\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\kbdclass.sys) crashes.

3. When this malfunction occurs, two types of events are recorded in the system event log (see Can the Windows Event Log Become Fascinating Reading?), for example:

Warning (Event Source: i8042prt; Event ID: 20; Description: Unable to set keyboard LED state);

Error (Event Source: Service Control Manager; Event ID: 7026; Description: Failed to load reboot driver(s) or system startup: i8042prt).

In this article, we have to figure out an important question: why does the keyboard not print? This phenomenon is not as rare as we would like. But you shouldn't be afraid of it. Problems with are resolved without any problems. And only in some situations it is necessary to try hard to establish the functioning of the computer component. But for what reasons can the keyboard refuse to work? And what to do in this or that case?

Connector damage

The first case is not very common, but it does occur. Especially on older computers. For laptops, this layout is relevant only when it comes to a separately connected keyboard.

What is it about? Why doesn't the keyboard print? The problem may lie in the equipment connection connector. It sometimes breaks or gets damaged. In this scenario, the keyboard cannot be connected. If you are using an older model (PS/2 jack), it is advisable to change the hardware to USB. Or connect the device to another connector. You can also try to repair the nests. But this technique will not give a long guarantee of the operation of the device.

Drivers

Why doesn't the keyboard print? The next, already more common reason is the lack of drivers for Especially when it comes to multifunctional, with a large number of additional buttons. If the device refused to work, it is recommended that you first reinstall the drivers for it. Or update them.

Typically, keyboards come with a CD with the appropriate software. Further And if the reason lay precisely in the drivers, then everything starts to work. You can optionally turn off and on the device after logging into the operating system. But not everything is always as simple as it seems. After all, a computer is a device that can present a variety of surprises. And it's not always easy to fix them. So what other scenarios can be identified?

blockage

Why doesn't the keyboard print? This question sooner or later begins to worry almost every user. This is especially true for those who do not monitor the computer and its components at all. Keyboard not typing some letters? What to do? If we are talking about a device that has been working properly for at least a month, we can advise only one thing - to clean the component.

The keyboard is a device that can get clogged. Dust, food debris, crumbs - all this remains between the buttons. And we are talking about laptops and desktop computers. Therefore, all keyboards need to be cleaned from time to time. At least once a year. Or as needed. It is also recommended not to eat in front of the monitor. This technique will allow you not to clog the connected device once again. By the way, this problem is the most common scenario.

Now it is clear why the keyboard does not print. Just make sure you don't clean it yourself. Especially when it comes to a novice user. And even more so, it is not recommended to clean the keyboard from the laptop yourself. It is better to take the input device to a service center. Keyboard cleaning services are offered almost everywhere. In just a few hours, you can fix the problem that overtook the user. After cleaning the keyboard will work in full force.

permutation

But these are far from all scenarios. Sometimes it happens that the keyboard prints the wrong letters. And in this situation it is very difficult to find an explanation for what is happening. After all, the device actually works. Just not the way it should be. There is only one reason that letters print numbers or not what is needed. This is the wrong assembly of the device. If you disassemble the keyboard, you will notice that each button has its own mechanism. The computer receives a signal from a certain key and prints one or another character. For the convenience of the user, these mechanisms are signed in the form of buttons on the keyboard. If the latter are swapped, it looks like the device is printing the wrong characters.

Therefore, in this situation, there is only one solution - to correctly assemble the keyboard. That is, place the mechanisms under each key in the right order. It is very difficult to do this on your own. Therefore, it is best to take the gadget to a service center. If you don’t want to think again why the keyboard does not print, you should not wipe and wash this component on your own. Often the problem with the wrong arrangement of buttons happens precisely after self-cleaning. Not the most dangerous, but not too pleasant moment.

Incorrect assembly

Keyboard buttons not working? How to be? First, don't panic. Secondly, analyze your recent actions with this device. In most cases, the user himself becomes the culprit of problems with the components connected to the computer. What to do if If the user tried to figure out the device on his own, it is recommended to immediately take it to a service center.

The reason is the incorrect assembly of the input device. Most likely, when the user tried to assemble the keyboard, an important contact moved away somewhere. This is a common occurrence and should be kept in mind. You can fix this problem yourself. But users point out that the keyboard will not work in inept hands. Unless it is completely broken. And craftsmen usually manage to disassemble the device the first time, and assemble it so that it works fully and without interruption.

Marriage

What to do if the keyboard does not print? Much depends on the situation. If we are not talking about a new device, then the above scenarios may well be the reason for the failure of the component to work. But what about when the conversation is about a newly purchased keyboard? If all the drivers have been installed, the problem most likely has only one reason - marriage. And here only a complete replacement of the keyboard will help. It is recommended that you immediately contact the store where you purchased the device. There you can exchange. Otherwise, you will have to buy a new gadget.

Incompatibility

What to do if the keyboard does not work? You want to find out why the connected device refused to perform its functions. In fact, only in rare cases among users, the causes are serious incidents. Much more often, all problems can be solved independently.

Why doesn't the keyboard print? The whole point may be in the incompatibility of the device with the operating system. This problem has appeared recently. Most often, users who have Windows 10 encounter it. With this operating system, older models do not have a similar problem. Yes, the keyboard also has its own minimum requirements. And you should pay attention to them. Because you will either have to change the device in the end, or reinstall the operating system to one compatible with the gadget.

Viruses

Keyboard buttons not working? Has this device stopped working at all? If all of the above cases do not fit, you might think about the last, rarest scenario - operating system infection. Viruses are the main enemies of the stable operation of computers. They can affect not only software, but also connected devices. For example, under their negative influence, the keyboard either does not print, or displays the wrong characters, or it puts down several letters / numbers at a time.

There are two ways out here: reinstalling the operating system from scratch or treating the computer from the corresponding infection. In the first case, you will have to completely format the hard drive, only then reinstall the OS. And the second option, as a rule, is not sufficiently effective. For this reason, it is recommended to save all data and reinstall the operating system on the computer. So the virus will 100% disappear.

Any USB keyboard can suddenly outgrow its work - even a regular budget one, even with an advanced design, backlight and a bunch of additional buttons. USB keyboards are not much, but still more vulnerable than keyboards connected via the PS/2 port. The list of possible causes of problems with the PS / 2 keyboard is small: as a rule, problems occur either with the keyboard itself, or with a wire, or with a motherboard connector. The range of possible causes of problems with USB keyboards is slightly wider, respectively, due to the USB interface itself. The possible causes of a non-working USB keyboard and ways out of the situation will be discussed below.

1. Pulled wire

If the USB keyboard worked successfully, and then at some certain point it stopped responding to input, first you should check if the wire is pulled out of the USB port on the computer. Even if the wire is in place, you can temporarily remove it from the USB port and insert it again after a couple of seconds.

2. Another USB port

If the previous method did not give successful results, you need to reconnect the keyboard to a different USB port. This will either open the problematic USB port on the computer, or eliminate one possible cause of the problem. After a motherboard failure due to a power surge, one or more USB ports may stop working, while others remain working. If the keyboard does not work with any of the USB ports, you need to check the performance of the USB ports themselves by connecting any other device to them - a flash drive, mobile device, printer, etc. If all USB ports on the computer turn out to be inoperative, then the problem will then need to be solved with them.

A keyboard connected to USB 3.0 (blue output port) may not work during the Windows installation process until the drivers are installed on the motherboard. In this case, the keyboard must be reconnected to USB 2.0 (port with white output).

3. Driver reinstallation

If reconnecting to another USB port does not work, you need to check if the keyboard works in the BIOS environment. The fact of successfully entering the BIOS and moving the navigation keys through its sections will mean that the problem has arisen at the Windows OS level. In this case, you can try to reinstall the keyboard drivers. You can do this in Windows Device Manager. You can get into it in Windows 7 by calling the Start menu and selecting Control Panel.

In Windows 8.1 and 10 systems, the path is shorter: the device manager is directly available in the context menu on the Start button.

Directly in the Device Manager window, open the "Keyboards" section, on the "HID Keyboard" item, call the context menu and uninstall the driver.

We confirm the decision.

We restart the computer.

After the reboot, the keyboard driver will be installed automatically.

For certain models of USB keyboards, manufacturers may provide their own drivers supplied with such keyboards. This point needs to be clarified, and if so, then the driver must be installed manually by downloading it from the manufacturer's website or by finding the installation disk included with the keyboard.

4. Enabling USB Keyboard Support Controller in BIOS

A motherboard failure (as a result of the same power surge) can cause the USB keyboard support controller to be disabled in the BIOS settings. Not often, however, it also happens that the USB controller for keyboard support at the BIOS level is disabled initially. This nuance will make itself felt only when there is a need for the computer to work in pre-boot mode. Until then, Windows will use the USB keyboard natively. Of course, in such cases, there is no way to do without a PS / 2 keyboard, and if one is not stored anywhere just in case, it will need to be borrowed from someone for a while. An alternative option is to use a USB to PS/2 adapter.

What needs to be done by entering the BIOS? In the BIOS settings, you need to find the USB keyboard support controller option. These are usually the inscriptions "Keyboard Support" or "Legacy USB Support". In the UEFI BIOS, the name may simply be "USB Support". Having found it, you need to check that the value opposite is not “Disabled” (off), but “Enabled” (on). The "Enabled" value must also be set in the "USB Controller" parameter. For example, in AMI BIOS version 17.9, USB controllers are configured in the "Integrated Peripherals" section.

5. Faulty keyboard

And finally, the simplest test to check the performance of the USB keyboard itself is to connect it to another computer device.

Have a great day!

Probably, each of us has come across a similar situation: you turn on the computer, try to enter text on the keyboard or switch from one window to another, but the keys do not respond to pressing, and the device itself does not show any signs of life. What caused this behavior of the device? Why does the keyboard not work on a computer or laptop? And how to fix it? Consider what could be the reasons.

Mechanical damage

The simplest explanation is mechanical damage to the keyboard. Perhaps you recently spilled coffee or sweet tea on it, accidentally dropped it, pulled the wire, etc., and then safely forgot about it. In this case, all that remains for you to do is to disassemble the device and try to fix it yourself, or contact a service center. The second option is preferable, especially when it comes to a laptop keyboard. If the keyboard cannot be brought back to life, you will have to purchase a new input device.

Contact violation

Sometimes keyboard problems are caused by the device not being properly connected to the computer. Check if the plug fits snugly into the socket on the system unit, if the fragile parts of the connector are bent. If necessary, carefully straighten them with tweezers and try connecting the keyboard again.

If you use a wireless keyboard, it's worth checking to see if the battery is dead in it. Very often the problem disappears without a trace as soon as the power supply is replaced.

There is no corresponding driver

Why does the keyboard on the computer not work if the contact is not broken and the device itself is not damaged?

Perhaps the system simply cannot find a driver for the device. In this case, you need to update your computer software.

You can do this manually by visiting the website of your keyboard manufacturer.

Manual driver update

  • go to the official website of the manufacturer;
  • find the appropriate section, select your device model;
  • download the archive and unpack it. Sometimes the driver has its own automatic installer, in which case you just need to click "Run file";
  • if there is no automatic program, launch the "Device Manager";
  • select "Update drivers", in the dialog that opens, select manual search, write the path to the folder into which you unpacked the archive;
  • after installation, restart the computer.

There is another way to update drivers. It is often recommended on thematic forums when the participant does not know why the keyboard does not work on a Windows 7 computer or other OS. You won't have to look for manufacturers' websites, but you will need to install additional programs to update drivers. For example, Driver Genius Professional or Driver Checker. These utilities are paid, but if you wish, you can find a replacement for them among free software (DriverMax Free, etc.).

Viruses attacked

Sometimes the operation of input devices is blocked as a result of the activity of malicious programs. If you don’t know why the keyboard on a laptop or computer doesn’t work, and with it the touchpad and mouse, then it’s most likely a virus infection of the system. What to do in this case?

and how can I fix it? Forgot your computer password? Don't worry - in our article you will find information on how to restore it.

Scan your system with an antivirus as soon as possible. If the antivirus did not detect a potential threat or simply turned off, use additional utilities. Dr.Web CureIt! is very effective in such situations. You can download this anti-virus utility from the official website of the Dr.Web laboratory. For the treatment of home computers, the program is free. The most important advantage of the utility is high reliability: the program will work even if the virus tries to turn off the computer during the scan and block it.

You can also advise the development of the Kaspersky studio, AVZ. Like Dr.Web CureIt!, the program is free. Updated regularly. It has several options for settings, which allows you to most effectively identify not only viruses and spyware, but also possible system vulnerabilities. Quickly eliminates "computer infection", gives many useful recommendations.

Keyboard just not enabled in BIOS

Finally, the last reason for the "lifelessness" of the device is the lack of a connection in the BIOS. This case is typical for netbooks and laptops, i.e. devices with built-in keyboards. How to fix the situation?

Very simple. Turn off the computer, then turn it on again. Before the operating system starts loading, we load the BIOS. Usually, you need to click the Delete button to do this, but there may be other options. Sometimes the BIOS is activated with the F2 or F8 keys (depending on the computer manufacturer). To help determine which button to press, a hint at the bottom of the screen (if there is one) can help.

Then we find a tab in the BIOS that lists all I / O devices. Select the item with the name "USB Controller", set the mode to "Enabled" ("Enabled"). Go to the “USB Keyboard Setup” item and repeat the operation, set the “Enabled” mode. Then we confirm saving the changes and exit the BIOS. Reboot and test the keyboard.

Sometimes the BIOS does not support USB keyboards. In this case, it is better to entrust computer setup to professionals from the service center, since you need to reinstall the BIOS. Doing it yourself is quite difficult.
